Kahutara School is a state, co-educational full primary school. The school was established in 1898 and many descendants of the foundation school are pupils today. The school celebrated its centenary in 1998, and a historical book ‘On the Right Side of the River’, reflecting some of the school’s history, is available in the school library or purchased from the school office.
We are a rural school with great heart. Set in picturesque grounds with mature oak trees, we believe we have a very special environment to support your child’s learning journey.
Our goal – high achievement for every child while maintaining our warm family environment.

A gentle reminder for those willing and able, donations for Pack the Bus can be delivered to the office until 9am Tuesday 28 Nov - the bus will be here to do a special collection at 10am that day.
Thanks to those you have generously donated already.
The organisers have decided to forge ahead with the day even though the weather report is marginal. Please make sure you and your students bring appropriate clothing as we are expecting showers (rain coat, umbrellas etc)
We wish all of our competitors a fun, successful and hopefully dry day!
